What an amazing place!!!!! This restaurant does not require any google reviews to be a great place to dine in Tuscany, we found this place by simply poking our nose down a quaint alley with inviting charm. What we found was the most excellent food!!!! The rosemary veal plate was astounding!!!! The best steak I have ever had, no question. The service was top notch, like many places in Tuscany. But best of all was the warm conversation with the head chef (owner likely) as we left to pay our bill. It is unusual and special for us Americans to be able to converse and share stories with the chef at the end of a truly great meal!!!Thank you for memories!Jay and family!

One of the best meals we had in Italy. The fusilli pasta with cortona smoke was phenomenal. Highly recommend for those that want already fantastic Italian pasta taken to the next level.

Amazing restaurant hidden in downhill alley very near the main square in Cortona.The restaurant looks like a historic cellar, carved into the mountain, really romantic and well decorated.The food and the service was great. Well recommended.

Amazing! My husband I and stopped here our first night in Cortona. I was intrigued by the entrance, and the menu looked great. We had a full dinner with appetizers (polpetti di Nonna), pasta (with venison), and main course. My husband got the filet, and I got the chicken with tomatoes and pecorino - it was the perfect balance of all the flavors. The service was great, and the underground setting gave the place a nice ambiance. We also split a bottle of wine to round it all out. We did not get dessert, but I'm sure that would have been great too. Put this on your list!

We were in Cortona for Easter and able to make a reservation on short notice. The staff were delightful, seemed to be a family working together. We ate light that night though restaurant is noted for its meat (which smelled amazing) had the most delicious ravioli and the Pasqua antipasta and dessert which were both amazing. The cave-like ambience is gorgeous.

This place is amazing. Underground caves deliver an atmosphere worthy of one of the most romantic places to eat. The food is outstanding and a service to match. Another must visit as are all other restaurants in Cortona we have visited.
